Risks Assesment and Adaptation / Mitigation

In the Post-Typhoon Yolanda (“Haiyan”) period, ATFI developed its training modules for Participatory Climate Change Risks Assessment and Mitigation/Adaptation Planning, and in Carbon Footprint Measurement and Sequestration, that was initially practiced in a partner rural community. In 2019, ATFI joined the call for Climate Emergency sounded off by 5,000 people gathered by the Bacolod City Government, college schools and three Catholic Dioceses of Negros Occidental. In 2022, ATFI was called in to assist in 4 Negros Barangays ravaged by Typhoon Odette (“Rai”) to conduct Climate Disaster Assessments and Adaptation Planning. The experience honed ATFI’s capability in processing local participatory adaptation planning that is much needed to be implemented in all barangays of Negros Occidental.
